Camp Schwab -- UDP（部隊交代計画）で２０２３年９月から２０２４年２月まで海兵隊キャンプ・シュワブに展開していた第３海兵師団隷下第２海兵連隊第２大隊 (2/2)が沖縄駐留中に行った７７０時間に及ぶ地域貢献活動へ対し、公益社団法人「小さな親切」運動本部より１１月２５日付で「小さな親切」実行章が贈られました。また、２０２３年には第３海兵師団第３偵察大隊と第３海兵兵站群第３持続支援群（試）弾薬中隊も表彰されました。

On November 25, 2024, 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment (2/2) was recognized for 770 hours of community service during their six-month deployment, September 2023 to February 2024 at Camp Schwab for their acts of kindness and enthusiasm towards the local community by the Small Kindness Foundation.2/2 was forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific region with 3rd Marine Division through a unit deployment program (UDP). In 2023, 3rd Marine Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division and Ammunition Company, 3rd Sustainment Group (Experimental), 3rd Marine Logistic Group also received the Small Kindness Movement award by the foundation for their volunteer services to the local community in Okinawa. 2/2 proudly continued that tradition in support of the small kindness movement.
